Blauweiss Media Presents: Hudson Valley Women Artists in their Own Voice

Join us to honor and celebrate the talented women of our region. Local filmmaker and historian Stephen Blauweiss presents his short films featuring past and present female artists and artisans from around the Hudson Valley. The films showcase a wide variety of styles, disciplines, and mediums, including painting, photography, glass work, metalsmithing, installations, children’s book illustration, and silkscreening.

The event is appropriate for all ages and genders and will include a brief introduction to each film as well as Q&A with the director at the end.

Blauweiss has produced over 75 of these artist profiles; 20 have aired on PBS, many have screened at museums and galleries around the country, and some were funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The filmmaker's ongoing mission is to document the vibrant arts, culture and history of the Hudson Valley region with a particular emphasis on the lesser-known and under-documented people and subjects.
