Christmas in July Toy Trot

People’s Place will hold our 2nd Annual “Christmas in July Toy Trot” at Rotary Park/Kingston Point Beach in Kingston on July 12th. This event is a 2.5 mile fun run with Christmas themed obstacles throughout the route.

The sole purpose of this event is to raise funds for our Holiday Gift Program for Ulster County children, ages infant to twelve years old. Last year we provided gift packages to 928 local children. Each child’s parent/guardian is helped by a volunteer to choose a toy, a game or craft, a winter weather accessory, a stocking stuffer and a book.  This year, based on the increase we are experiencing in our Food Pantry, we anticipate a large increase in families requesting holiday gifts for their children.
