HRMM: DIY Dado Built Tool Box

Spend the day on the Rondout Creek learning woodworking at the Hudson River Maritime Museum Wooden Boat School! Join us for this 1-day class during which instructor Wayne Ford will guide students as they construct their own tool box. Participants will learn the dado joint, one of the most used joinery techniques in woodworking. This strong and simple joint is used in a variety of projects including boxwork for cabinetry, drawers, and bookcases, or in this instance, a tool box. Students will start with lumber and use common shop machinery including the table saw, miter saw, band saw and sanders to mill all the parts of the box. They will glue-up and complete the box by the end of the day. This class is perfect for beginners who have never worked with these tools, or students who have some experience but would like to learn more about joinery. Please register by September 6.
