Hudson River Maritime Museum: GlassBarge Visits Kingston June 15 - 17

The Hudson River Maritime Museum is pleased to host both the Corning Museum of Glass's GlassBarge and the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum's replica canal schooner Lois McClure at the museum docks from Friday, June 15 through Sunday, June 17th. These amazing vessels will be open for FREE public deck tours each day, advance tickets strongly recommended.

GlassBarge brings the beauty of hot glass to a waterfront community near you: Kingston. Space is limited, so please reserve your free ticket by selecting a day and time at www.eventbrite.com . A 30’ x 80’ canal barge equipped with patented all-electric glassmaking equipment, GlassBarge shares the story of glass through live, 30-minute demonstrations. GlassBarge is the 2018 signature event for the Erie Canal Bicentennial, and helps to emphasize the continued role of New York’s waterways in shaping the state’s industry, culture, and community.

The Corning Museum of Glass: GlassBarge was created to celebrate the Erie Canal’s Bicentennial. Its stadium like seating and free glass blowing demonstrations gives its audience an experience of a life time. The GlassBarge will start its travel on May 17 at Brooklyn Bridge Park. From there it will travel to Corning, NY, making key stops along the way.  Find out more about the GlassBarge and the Corning Museum of Glass at www.cmog.org.
