The Ashokan Center: An afternoon with David Amram and Family

The Ashokan Center is honored to present an afternoon with legendary composer, conductor and multi-instrumentalist David Amram and his family of musicians on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. Amram was part of a community of artists, including Charlie Mingus, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Jack Kerouac, and he has collaborated with Leonard Bernstein, Bob Dylan, Arthur Miller, Pete Seeger, Joseph Papp, Allen Ginsberg, Langston Hughes, Patti Smith, Paquito d’Rivera, Thelonious Monk, Woody Guthrie, Johnny Depp and others. Amram and Ashokan Center CEOs Jay Ungar and Molly Mason have been musical friends for decades. Ungar and Mason joined in during Amram’s performance at Ashokan’s 50th Anniversary celebration and are excited to jam with him and his family at their upcoming show. Tickets to David Amram and Family’s performance can be purchased in advance at www.ashokancenter.org. Tickets are available on a sliding scale from $10 to the suggested $25.
